Abstract

Abstract:

This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) adoption can support productivity, innovation, competitiveness, and inclusion in emerging economies. Using an integrative conceptual review, it develops the Responsible AI-Enabled Inclusive Transformation (RAI-EIT) framework, which links four enabling conditions - digital infrastructure, human capital, organizational capabilities, and institutional governance - to productivity, innovation, and inclusive economic transformation. The analysis argues that AI creates durable value only when technology is embedded in redesigned processes, supported by skills and reliable data, governed transparently, and diffused beyond large firms. The framework integrates firm-level capabilities, innovation ecosystems, and national development objectives, and is translated into research propositions, a Morocco-based illustration, and a staged roadmap. For managers, the study highlights use-case prioritization, data governance, workforce development, and human oversight. For policy-makers, it emphasizes SME support, territorial inclusion, interoperable infrastructure, and accountable regulation. The article contributes a context-sensitive model that treats responsible governance as a productive condition of AI-led transformation rather than a separate compliance requirement.
